Prathima Chintala — Kuchipudi Dance and Carnatic Music Instructor

Prathima Chintala grew up in southern state of Andhra Pradesh, India and has been immersed in the dance culture since the age of 6. She is trained in Late Sri Dr. Vempati China Satyam's Kuchipudi dance style and had a great fortune to learn from Kuchipudi Dance Gurus, A.Sanjeev Babu, the Founder of Sri V.C.Satyam Kuchipudi Nrutya Niketan, Hyderabad, as a child and 'NATYACHARYA' Sri Pasumarthy Venkateswara Sharma, the founder of Sri Bala Tripura Sundari Kuchipudi Natya Kala Kshetram and Smt. Sreedevi Mungara, the senior desciple of Padmasri Shobbha Naidu garu and the founder of chinmayi nrityalaya, NJ, after moving to United States. She has attended various workshops in Indian Contemporary, Kathak and Manipuri dance techniques offered by Mr. Sanjib Battacharya, President Award winner by Presidents of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam and Smt Pratibha Patil. She participated in many performances and dance competitions. She performed Kuchipudi Dance and won Best Talent Title in Mrs India NC 2009 contest, as well as First Runner Up position in a Boogie Woogie dance competition, 2010. She performed Manjira Nartan, a Manipuri dance at 30th Annual Downtown Dance festival, NYC held by prestigious Organization IAAC (Indo American Arts Council Inc) in 2011. She was a Composer and Choreographer of the Indian dance for a Show named 'The Secret Garden', produced by the 'Justice Theatre Project' and has been an active member of the team participating in various projects as both dancer as well as a singer. She continues to pamper her passion for dance by learning and exploring western dance techniques, American Ballet and Jazz at Ninth Street Dance and Cary Ballet Conservatory, North Carolina.

Along with dance, Prathima has been learning Carnatic Veena and Vocal from past 6 years. And has completed Level-1 Certification in Carnatic Vocal from Acharyanet based in Chennai, which is owned and operated by Carnatic Brothers Ravi Kiran and Sasi Kiran.
